LISTEN TO THE SOUND OF SILENCE   2 comments

The latest issue of Private Eye sums up the BBC’s dread and rigidly enforced code of Omerta which has served Doctor Who so well over the years. As nearly all of this is already in the public domain (or at least the fan domain), there’ll be little opportunity for fans to flood the Private Eye switchboards again demanding a public retraction and apology.

  1. Funnily enough, I worked out that between July 2014 and November 2014, when the previous regime would have scheduled 0 episodes, there will now be 12. Brilliant!

  2. Just love that phrase “secure the future of the title for many years to come”. Brings with it all the confidence of a politician’s denial and a Prime Minister’s unconditional support, doesn’t it? Personally, I’m actually a little surprised that it’s coming back as early as 2014. What with a 50th anniversary special, a dramatisation of the origins of the programme and (no doubt) an already tied and worn-out documentary, I thought the budget would have been blown until at least easter 2015.
